VISITS TO THE FARM

FARMER VISIT INTO SCHOOL

Bring the farm to your classroom with a fun, interactive visit from a real Lake District sheep farmer.

 

About the Visit:

I visit schools to give children a genuine insight into sheep farming and life in the countryside.

These sessions are hands-on, engaging, and tailored to suit different age groups, helping children connect with farming, food, and the natural world.

 

What’s included:

  • Understand the role of sheep on the farm including different breeds and their purpose

  • What life is like on a working farm

  • The sheep farming year (lambing, shearing, feeding etc. )

  • How farmers care for animals

  • Where our food comes from

  • Wool & Craft Activity - Learn about wool and how it is used

  • Take part in a simple, age-appropriate craft Create something to take home

  • How sheep  help to look after the countryside

 

Questions & Discussion  Plenty of time for children to ask questions and explore their curiosity about farming and animals.
